When The Pin Drops

Holding sunshile as it falls
Caressing warmth in its grace;
Can you see the glimmer in my eyes?
Of years of memory flashing by like rain;

In mind's eye I see the peaceful;
Will wonderous childhood thoughts ever fade?
Cascading in my dreams like faith
The curtain of life falls away;

I remember who I am, who I was,
But who will I be when the pin drops?
Clouded future hangs like city haze
And we feel our way along as if blinded by nightfall;

Walk the path or stumble and fall,
Stand or crumble like ash, journey's end in darkness and light,
Failth and faltering are our shield,
Our indecision a beacon of humanity.
