These Four Walls

These four walls hold me inside,
A house of brick and stone.
These four walls I cannot hide,
Or diffuse my shame from prying eyes.
These four walls tell my tale,
A story of darkness and despair.
These four walls, grey and pale,
A voiceless cry of chained fate.
These four walls I deserve,
My time is not my own.
These four walls, oh how they serve,
A purpose, stern and sad.
These four walls are my hell,
My crimes have put me here.
These four wall, my life, my cell,
My six by nine foot universe.
