Stars

The gifts in this life are many,
Yet few see them or their deep beauty,
Shining triumphantly in the night.
Like stars, elusive and wondrous,
Yet just beyond the veil,
Of the world we know.
Those who cherish life's gifts,
Are the stars, twinkling with starfire,
Bright and lustrous in their splendour.
We who have yet to understand,
Yet to ascend in mind, heart and soul,
Are the masses wishing upon a star.
I wish to be among the stars,
Shining triumphantly in the night.
