So Much to Pay, So Much More to Lose

Reality is, the universe tears us all apart,
And the physics of it all bleed, though some don't have the heart,
To brave the struggles in this life, this game,
All the time raining down like eternal flame.
Higher; rising smoke in the proverbial sky
Tear-welled and cloaked in the grey reflecting eye.
So much to pay, so much more to lose
Yet willingly we give it away like we've got something to prove;
If so, then only to ourselves be it true,
Because we all know we never had a clue.
I feel as if I can't even begin to speak,
Tongue-tied and wasted opon my precipice peak,
A point, no return, where heavy tomorrows weigh
On my mind like a concrete halo, come what may;
The unknown of the least like water and life flows,
I battle for valiant balance out of the deepest sorrows.
