Senses

If you see it,
It is real?
But what do we feel,
How can you hear the sound?
Can you smell it,
Tell it what you need,
Let it feed from you,
Until you wither like a flower past it's prime?
What is the rule, the name ,
That holds us here, playing the game
How can we live like cattle,
In the battle, oblivious and wandering?
Even in my darkness,
I hearken to the light that streams,
Gallant and true through the window, without lies,
Bright shining eyes.
We can feel reality seeping; see dreams and dust,
Trust your senses, touch the wound,
Taste pain in your mind,
You never know what you'll hear, what you'll find.
