Night Dimmed Blue

Ripples cast upon a midnight flicker,
As if stars themselves grow thicker;
Dare to glance and grasp at grace,
To learn, desire to hold this place.
In the gleam of our eyes, true,
Under the fathom of night dimmed blue.

Under the cloak of diamond tears,
Streaming from beyond deep deep years;
And while peace may live in thine heart,
The world around plays but it's part
Of past and future to pass and fall,
The distant rolls of thunder call.

Flash and fury mirrored well,
In the storm hidden under the shell,
Humanity at times, is too thin a veil,
In despair falters and epically fails;
We must search our soul and dreams,
While our heart stumbles and screams.

Just a flicker in the midnight eye,
Moon guiding us to question why;
Wondering what is truth, to me,
What will twist to set us free?
I yearn to hold my star, true,
Under the fathom of night dimmed blue.
