Concrete Sunrise

Rise above the hollow shell,
The drivelous cacophony we create;
Crest overlooking the walls
And let echo the halls
Loudly amidst our trembling ears.

Soar, eagle winging overhead,
Stately eyeing us, piercing;
Regarding us in its gaze,
Seeking through the smog haze,
Specks among the concrete jumbled jungle.

We hold tightly, fearing,
The echoes overwhelming the voice;
Destined to fury, to defend,
Rage futilely until we mend,
Dreaming of a break in the storm.
