Frozen Heart

Like an ice block my heart stands
In this vast ocean of life
It stands adrift, seeking refugie
Seeking someplace to hold on to

But it finds nothing but pain
So it freezes even more
To be able to stand it
It freezes and kills every feeling in me

But this hope, this dreaded hope
That still inhabits it is so dark
And brings out this obnoxious feeling
That tears it almost to shreds

And the darkness stands until I sleep
Stands feeding on my body and mind
Until it is satisfied and I get empty again
just to go on and get her more food

And like that I shall go onward
Living my life in this manner
Having to pay the toll every night
Just to be able to walk the day after

To be able to try again and again
In this eternal circle of destruction
Of my heart and soul and flesh
Just with my little dreams holding me
