Julie Bell was born in 1958 in Beaumont, Texas, USA and is currently living in Allentown, Pennsylvania with her husband Boris Vallejo.

She has spend most of her early life in six different colleges and universities learning art and focusing her studies on the human body. She also trained as a bodybuilder, although she no longer competes, she still has continued her weight training. Her art style focuses heavily on Fantasy and Science Fiction genres as well as Super Heroes. She has been featured in most art magazines and is known as the first woman to paint Conan for Marvel Comics.
